Avessos (dt.: „von innen nach außen“) ist die neue Arbeit des brasilianischen Tänzers und Choreografen Marcos Abranches – derzeit Künstler in Residenz am Staatstheater Darmstadt. Er untersucht für diese Soloperformance unterschiedlichste Stilrichtungen und künstlerische Darstellungsformen wie DanceAbility, Butoh, Contact Improvisation, Kino, Fotografie, Mode, Musik und somatische Techniken wie Feldenkrais.

DanceAbility ist eine Methode für Tanz, Bewegung und nonverbale Kommunikation. Sie integriert Menschen mit und ohne Behinderungen und beruht auf dem Prinzip „Inklusion statt Isolation“.

Japanischer Butoh ist ein Tanz, der Konventionen umstößt. Er zielt darauf ab, sich von den gewöhnlichen Formen des Körpers und des Denkens zu befreien und über Improvisation und Verkörperung neue Daseinsformen zu erreichen. In der Contact Improvisation geht es unter anderem um Verlagerungen von Gewicht: halten und gehalten werden.

Avessos ist eine Einladung, sich in ein Kaleidoskop der Ausdrucksformen zu begeben und einem ergreifenden Solo beizuwohnen.

‘Avessos’ (“inside out“) is the new work by the Brazilian dancer and choreographer Marcos Abranches – currently Artist-in-Residence at Staatstheater Darmstadt. For this solo performance he explores the most varied styles and artistic forms including DanceAbility, butoh, contact improvisation, cinema, photography, fashion, music and somatic techniques like Feldenkrais.

DanceAbility is a method of dance, movement and non-verbal communcation. It integrates people with and without disabilities and is based on the principle of inclusion instead of isolation.

Japanese butoh is a dance that upsets conventions. Butoh aims to free itself from accustomed forms of physicality and thinking and to achieve a new kind of presence through improvisation and embodiment. Contact improvisation focusses, among other things, on transferring weight: on holding and being held.

‘Avessos’ invites its audience to enter a kaleidoscope of expressive forms and to experience a poignant solo.
